Year II - UoN Education Centre

The brief was to design a teaching centre for the proposed foundation course at the Department of Architecture and Built Environment at the University of Nottingham. 

The project was to be designed in conjunction with the Forum we had designed previously and sits on site with the current architecture department.

 

I enjoyed exploring innovative ways of playing with structural techniques and devices, and thus my scheme features an unusual exo-skeletal steel frame from which a secondary structure is hung. The Larger scaled scheme also provided an opportunity to play with mixing volumes and arranging spaces.
