The Forum was a fast-paced project to introduce us back into designing after spending a semester working on project myemyela. Our brief was to quickly resolve and visualise a ‘student’s forum’ for the Department of Architecture and Built Environment (DABE) at the University of Nottingham. My design revolved around a central atrium and featured an expansive café area for relaxing, additional crit and exhibition spaces, and seminar space. The scheme was integrated with great success into the existing building in the department through walkways on varying levels. Re-purposing the old café into a materials store also helped to add a feeling of congruency to the design.
