Help Refugees

Summer 2018 - Help Refugees - Calais, France

 

Help Refugees is a charity which provides food, clothes, tents, wifi and legal advice to refugees who are stuck at Calais. I was able to help serve food to families in great need.

 

The charity functions out of a single warehouse in Calais. There was an invitation for anyone with building skills to help design and create a shelter for volunteers to sit under and eat lunch shelterd from the rain. We were shown a junkyard of materials which we could use to construct this Shelter. Within 3 days myself and 3 team-mates designed and constructed a shelter, complete with a waterproofing strategy and bunk beds!
