Project Myemyela - Live Build in South Africa
As a group of second year architecture students from the University of Nottingham, we joined together to design and build a nursery school in the rural village of Lephepane, Limpopo, South Africa. It is one of the poorest, least developed parts of the country with high levels of unemployment.

Our ambition was to provide a bright, clean and safe environment for teaching basic skills, play and music to village children, whilst also providing employment for the local women who teach in the nursery school.
As you can see the project was a huge success!
Together, we raised all the funds to provide equipment, materials and hire local contractors whilst also fundraising for our own flights and accommodation. to find out more about our fundraising click here.
